William ”Bill” Russell Gjertsen died quietly at his home after an extended illness. He is survived by his wife , Betsy: three sons, Eric, John and Owen, three grandsons, Valor, Percy and Dylan. Bill retired from a career in sales at SAS Institute in Cary and served with Life Action Ministries in Michigan before returning to North Carolina and residing in New Bern, He was a member of Cape Carteret Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday March 25, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Eakes Funeral Chapel in Creedmoor by Rev. Dwayne Milioni. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to AfricanEnterprise.com or DesiringGod.org.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 25, 2015 from 10:00-11:00 AM prior to the service at the Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor.
